Live music has always been important to Austin and its development. In fact, the city bills itself as the "Live Music Capital of the World." Perhaps the most iconic event tied to live music is the SXSW Music Festival and Conference. Now in its 25th year, the South by Southwest Music Conference has grown to become the biggest music and media event of its kind in the world.
